Eelpower Ltd, the UK energy storage and services company, has appointed Magdalena Markiewicz as its Chief Financial Officer.
Magdalena brings a wealth of experience to Eelpower. To date, she has worked with Rothschild (Global Financial Advisory), with Goldman Sachs in London, with Morgan Stanley in New York and with Deloitte. Magdalena has also held senior finance roles with private entrepreneurial businesses.
Magdalena joins Eelpower’s senior management team that is headed by Stephen Partridge-Hicks (Chairman) and Mark Simon (Chief Executive). She will support the development of the company’s pipeline of permitted storage sites and the company’s pursuit of new storage development opportunities in the UK. The company currently operates six-grid connected sites totalling 34MW, with a further 38MW in construction and a pipeline of 860MW. Since July 2018, Eelpower assets have provided around 40% of the non-EFR battery-sourced frequency response services in the UK.
Mark Simon, Chief Executive of Eelpower Ltd: “Magdalena’s international debt and structuring experience will be hugely beneficial to the growth of our business, in particular as we look to secure additional investment to build out, own and operate a portfolio of grid-connected storage assets in the UK. We have ambitious plans to bring 1GW of energy storage online by 2021/22.”
Magdalena succeeds Steve Gregory, who acted as Eelpower’s interim Chief Financial Officer.
