Our story
Eelpower was founded to construct, own and operate a platform of flexible battery assets to provide balancing services and participate in the power market, the largest commodity market in the world. To do this, we built and operated some of the first large batteries in the UK and gathered a team of professionals who each bring unique insight and experience. The UK is one of the leading flexible storage markets in the world, and Eelpower will bring its experience in its home market to work with partners globally.

The UK marks the first full day when power generation is completely coal-free. For over 24 hours, from about 23:00 on Thursday 20th April until midnight on Friday 21st April there was zero contribution to the UK National Grid by coal.
